Radio for Migrants è una stazione radio online ideata circa 10 anni fa da Alberto Cicala per Mater Africa. Cicala aveva ideato e costruito una Radio FM già nel 1977 che si chiamava Radio Scotland e ha coinvolto gruppi di ragazzi in Sicilia per due anni. Dopo 42 anni, grazie ad un progetto finanziato dall'Unione Europea, invece Radio for Migrants ha preso ha iniziato a trasmettere online senza interruzioni. La web Radio fornisce informazioni e intrattenimento per le comunità migranti. Offre notizie, programmi culturali, lezioni di lingua e musica da vari paesi (ora in fase di riprogrammazione). L'obiettivo principale è aiutare i migranti a rimanere connessi alle loro culture d'origine nigeriana e a integrarsi nelle nuove comunità.
La stazione radio ha una presenza digitale con streaming live, podcast e social media per raggiungere un pubblico più ampio. Inoltre, Radio for Migrants collabora con vari sponsor e organizzazioni per sostenere le comunità migranti. Il progetto precede il nuovo Passaporto Mattei ceh fornirà a distanza corsi di italiano per i giovani nigeriani selezionati a venire a lavorare in Italia.
